O’CONNOR GAS PROCESSING PLANT
Kersey, Colorado
TIC completed the construction and expansion of the O’Connor Gas Processing Plant — a deep-cut cryogenic, natural gas processing plant that is part of an eight-plant system. The plant produces a pipeline-quality gas product and recovers valuable NLGs and condensate.
The plant was designed for an initial capacity of 110 million standard cubic feet per day. Before completion, TIC was awarded a second contract to construct the expansion to 160 million standard cubic feet per day, ultimately allowing the client to further support the Denver-Julesburg Basin area. In total, TIC installed 53 vessels and filters, 15 tanks, 17 heat exchangers, 13 air-cooled exchangers, 42 pumps, 19 compressors and 10 equipment packages.
Project conditions and challenges involving inclement weather patterns and delays of major equipment required extensive planning and scheduling efforts including Saturdays and Sundays to maintain productivity. Ultimately, TIC completed both phases of the program within 20 months and was awarded the Award of Excellence in Construction by Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc.
