Our strength in estimating and pre-project planning allows us to provide our clients with certainty in price, schedule, and performance. We’ve supported our clients to meet the changing power consumption trends and generating strategies by constructing cogeneration, combined-cycle, geothermal and waste-to-energy generation and resource facilities.
We are experience in a variety of contracting methods from EPC contractor to the general contractor. Unlike many of our competitors, we self-perform most major craft disciplines, providing time, cost and scheduling efficiencies, as well as in-house expertise and seamless performance for our clients.
TIC was the EPC contractor for the complete installation of twelve GE Sprint PCNXGEN LM6000 gas turbines for a 575 MW power plant.
The project consisted of retrofitting these boilers with Selective Catalytic Reduction systems for NOx abatement and included one SCR reactor per unit, draft ID fans, structural support steel, ductwork, ammonia piping, electrical equipment, instrumentation and boiler modifications.
In a joint venture, TIC with Kiewit Power Engineers was the EPC contractor for a 250 MW gas fired power plant.
TIC-The Industrial Company with Kiewit Engineering & Design Co. was the EPC contractor for the 495 megawatt combined-cycle power plant utilizing the nation’s first installed J-series engine.
TIC was the general contractor for the installation of ten LM6000 gas fired turbine generators and all associated Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment and systems.
KCP&L and Westar Energy selected the team of TIC-The Industrial Company, Kiewit and Sargent & Lundy LLC to engineer, procure and construct the retrofit to the 1500 MW plant. The La Cygne Generating Station Environmental Retrofit Project includes the installation of two Hitachi wet FGD scrubbers and new fabric filters on Unit 1 and Unit 2; and a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system, low-NOx burners and over-fire air system on Unit 2 of the facility.
In a joint venture the TIC - The Industrial Company and Kiewit Power Engineers team was the EPC contractor for a 950 MW combined cycle gas fired power plant.
The team of Kiewit and TIC – The Industrial Company was awarded the contract to engineer, procure and construct a dry flue gas desulfurization (FGD) system addition for Unit 3 (230 megawatts) and Unit 4 (330 megawatts) at the existing Dave Johnston facility. With an addition of new equipment on the west side of the plant, the air quality control system provided by The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) will reduce sulfur oxide (SOX) emissions.
TIC provided structural, mechanical, piping and electrical and instrumentation for the construction of the 2 x 1, 525 MW combined cycle expansion project.
TIC, in a joint venture with Kiewit Power Engineers, was the EPC contractor for a 250 MW combined cycle power plant.
