Crandall Canyon Expansion

Crandall Canyon Expansion

Huntington, Utah

TIC was awarded the contract for engineering, construction and procurement JV with Roberts & Schaefer.

Scope of work consisted of surface expansion that included a new 2,000 TPH facility comprised of storage, screening, crushing, sampling and automated truck loading.

The facility ties into an existing transfer house at the mine mouth and accepts 8” run-of-mine coal. Coal is stockpiled through a 40,000 ton stacking tube, then screened and crushed into a 2” final product. The automated truck loadout is capable of loading tandem coal highway haulers in less than 2 minutes each. The project was completed with little laydown area and had to tie into the existing mine without interrupting operations longer than four days.
